Mom always said, “If you’re going to do something, do it well.” We carry that with us as we build this company. Our goal is to create a business that not only helps others but also reflects the love and dedication she gave to everything she did.
Our mom wasn’t just the heart of our family; she was the glue that held it all together. She was only 58 when we lost her to lung cancer, and it’s hard to put into words what it feels like to lose someone with so much life left to live. She wasn’t ready to go, and we weren’t ready to let her go.
Even during her hardest days, she found a way to keep laughing, keep smiling, and keep making every moment count. That’s who she was. She taught us that no matter what life throws at you, you can still show up for the people you love. That’s what we carry with us every day.
Losing her so young left us with a lot of heartache, but it also gave us purpose. Everything we do at Dot & Daughters is inspired by her—her work ethic, her compassion, her ability to make everyone feel seen and supported. We want to be that for our clients, the way she was for us: someone you can count on, someone who shows up no matter what.
Her fight with cancer also gave us a determination to make a difference. We support cancer research and take part in events whenever we can. Whether it’s walking in her honor, raising funds, or simply keeping her story alive, it’s our way of fighting for a future where more families get to keep their moms around a little longer.
This isn’t just a business to us. It’s her legacy. It’s how we make sure her light doesn’t dim, even though she’s no longer here. Every decision we make, every client we help, and every small win we celebrate—it’s all for her.
We miss her every single day, but we know she’s watching over us, probably with that half-smile she always gave when she was proud. This business is our way of showing up for her, for ourselves, and for the people we’re lucky enough to work with.
